Pier Pleasure’s History
Our story started in 1974 when two lake homeowners were tired of struggling with their heavy piers. They decided to see what was available on the market. After looking and learning that not much had changed in piers, they decided to put their aluminum manufacturing experience from another industry to work to build their own. After refining prototypes at their own cabins, it was time to start producing their newly engineered designs.
They went on to name the company, Pier Pleasure, as it was a pleasure to install and remove the new pier without entering the water. At the peak of their start, Pier Pleasure held 17 patents. In 1976, the aluminum sectional pier system was the company’s main focus. This concept was unique at that time and still is today. We are proud to say there are many key features found only on Pier Pleasure products.
Valuable Experience
Pier Pleasure originally manufactured its products and retailed them directly to the customer, along with delivery and installation. This was a valuable experience which provided an opportunity for feedback from those who were using the products. This had a strong influence on product development and improvement as time went on.
Expanding Product Lines
As the company grew over time, it became evident from listening to our customers’ requests that it was time to offer a full line of aluminum boat lifts and lift accessories. The lifts were innovative and designed with many first-time features and components found only on Pier Pleasure products. These components are still used today to add lasting product value.
Customer Support
In the early 1990’s it became clear that to better serve our existing and new customer’s needs, it was time to develop a dealer network for even better product and customer support. This allowed the company’s workforce to focus its energy and skills on manufacturing and growth to meet the strong demand for its products. Today Pier Pleasure enjoys the strong relationships it has developed with its many dealers over the years. The people that make up the dealer network are dedicated to helping and taking care of our Pier Pleasure customers. Customer support has always been a core value. We need to understand our customer’s needs and continue to improve.
